Hilary Duff, space dress

I want to preface this by saying I like Hilary Duff. I think she’s a great role model for young girls and I usually like how she dresses. However, in this photo, I’m pretty much WTF?
Have you ever played that game Asteroids? Because that thing on the front? It looks like the ship in that game. Which begs the question: WHY?
