Katie Holmes Looks Weird

Why is Katie Holmes wearing what looks like a bad prom gown? And what is with the giant black scarf around her neck? The scarf trailed all the way down the back of her dress, which I think was intended to look stylish but it really just looks like she’s hiding a giant hickey.
I am always so saddened when cute and stylish actresses make such huge fashion choices.
